We are currently recruiting for an experienced Social Worker to join the Children with Disabilities (CWD) Team in West Essex on a locum basis.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and supportive service dedicated to improving outcomes for children and young people with disabilities and their families. You'll work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, undertaking statutory social work responsibilities and delivering high-quality interventions that promote independence, wellbeing, and positive outcomes.
What will your responsibilities be?
- Manage a caseload of children and young people with disabilities, completing assessments, reviews, and care planning.
- Undertake Child in Need, Child Protection, and Looked After Children work where required.
- Build effective relationships with children, young people, families, and partner agencies.
- Complete robust assessments and produce high-quality reports and case recordings.
- Develop and implement outcome-focused care plans tailored to individual needs.
- Attend and contribute to multi-agency meetings, reviews, and strategy discussions.
- Work in partnership with education, health, and other professionals to provide coordinated support.
- Ensure all practice is in line with current legislation, statutory guidance, and safeguarding procedures.

Qualifications and Experience:
To be successful in this role you must have;
- Social Work qualification (Degree, CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent).
- Registration with Social Work England.
- Minimum 3 years' post-qualified social work experience.
- Previous experience working within a Children with Disabilities or Children's Services team.
- Strong assessment, safeguarding, and care planning skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience using electronic case management systems.
- Ability to work independently whilst contributing positively to a team environment.
