We are looking for a dedicated and motivated Social Worker to join our Doncaster Fostering Service.

The role offers a hybrid working arrangement, with work completed from home, face-to-face meetings with foster carers across the Doncaster region, and attendance at our Doncaster office when required. You will join a supportive and experienced fostering team with a strong commitment to delivering the best outcomes for children and young people.

Five Rivers works from a Trauma-Informed (ATIC) model, integrating our fostering, residential, clinical, and education services to achieve the best possible outcomes for young people. Teams are supported by a psychologist, therapeutic practitioner, foster support workers, and business support coordinators. This, alongside manageable workloads, enables our social workers to provide high-quality support and intervention to foster families.

About The Role

As a Social Worker within our fostering service, you will provide support and supervision to foster carers, ensuring that children and young people receive safe, stable, and nurturing care.

  • Work closely with foster families, local authorities, and internal professionals to promote positive outcomes for children and young people.
  • Offer realistic caseloads and the opportunity to work within a continually evolving trauma-informed practice model.
  • Support recruitment activities, attend fostering events, complete assessments, and contribute to the ongoing development of our fostering service.
  • Be a team player, committed to achieving the best possible outcomes for foster carers and the children they care for.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
