Are you an experienced Social Worker looking for an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic and supportive team at West Berkshire Council? We are seeking a dedicated professional to join us in delivering high-quality social work services to children and families in our community.
The Role
Role
As a Social Worker reporting to the Team Manager, you will be part of the Children and Family Services Service, working from our Market Street Offices. Your role will involve:
- Conducting assessments and providing appropriate interventions to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people.
- Building positive relationships with children, families, and other professionals to ensure effective information sharing and collaborative working.
- Delivering high-quality social work services, including care planning, case management, and maintaining accurate and timely record keeping.
- Participating in multi-agency meetings and contributing to the development of integrated support plans.
- Providing advice, guidance, and support to families to enable positive change and improve outcomes for children.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Social Worker who possesses the following attributes:
- Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
- Experience working in a children and family social work setting, ideally within a local authority.
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, statutory requirements, and safeguarding practices.
- Excellent assessment, intervention, and report writing skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating resilience and adaptability.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with diverse individuals.
- Driving license and access to a car for work purposes.
