What is the job role?

As a Social Worker at Coventry City Council, you will play a vital role in supporting children, families and adults across our city. You’ll work as part of a values-driven, supportive team, using your professional expertise to safeguard, empower and improve outcomes for the people you work with.

Your role will involve:

  • Building meaningful, respectful relationships with individuals, families and carers
  • Completing high-quality assessments that inform effective planning and decision-making
  • Working collaboratively with partners, agencies and communities
  • Using your professional judgement to manage risk and promote safety
  • Championing the rights, wellbeing and independence of the people you support
  • Contributing to a culture of learning, reflection and continuous improvement

Whether you are newly qualified or an experienced practitioner, you will be encouraged to bring your ideas, your passion and your professional curiosity to help shape excellent practice across Coventry.

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
