Job Opportunity: Social Worker in Rutland

Our client based in Rutland is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join their Adult Safeguarding and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) Team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled practitioner to work within a specialist safeguarding service, supporting adults at risk through complex safeguarding enquiries, risk management processes, and statutory social work interventions.

The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting the principles of the Care Act 2014 and Making Safeguarding Personal, ensuring that adults with care and support needs are protected from abuse, neglect, and exploitation whilst maintaining choice, control, and independence. Working closely with partner agencies, individuals, carers, and professionals, you will undertake complex safeguarding investigations, social care assessments, and support planning to achieve positive outcomes for adults at risk.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertaking complex and high-risk Section 42 Safeguarding Enquiries in line with the Care Act 2014.
  • Promoting and embedding Making Safeguarding Personal principles in practice.
  • Managing a complex caseload involving abuse, neglect, exploitation, self-neglect, and safeguarding concerns.
  • Completing social care assessments, reassessments, and reviews.
  • Developing, implementing, and reviewing support plans and safeguarding protection plans.
  • Undertaking Mental Capacity Assessments and contributing to Best Interest decisions under the Mental Capacity Act 2005.
  • Supporting and contributing to Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) processes and assessments.
  • Preparing comprehensive assessments, reports, and safeguarding documentation.
  • Working alongside health professionals, police, care providers, advocacy services, housing teams, and other agencies.
  • Participating in multi-agency risk management processes to promote positive outcomes and reduce harm.
  • Maintaining accurate, timely, and legally compliant records.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
