Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council
We are looking for Social Workers to work in our Hospital Team and Integrated Neighbourhood Team who are enthusiastic and passionate about changing the lives of people with care and support needs, and carers, through the promotion of wellbeing and choice, making a real difference and enabling them to increase their independence and have fulfilling lives, free from harm and abuse.
Hospital Team
Conveniently based at Churchill House in Solihull town centre, as part of this highly experienced and dedicated team, you will embed a strengths-based model of assessment and support, promoting independence and well-being and achieving better outcomes for people, carers and their families. You will ensure that there is a strong Adult Care and Support focus while working in partnership with health colleagues and care providers such as reablement.
Integrated Neighbourhood Team
In Solihull’s Integrated Neighbourhood Teams (INTs), a social worker plays a key role in bringing together health, social care, voluntary sector and community services to support people with complex needs in a coordinated way. INTs are multidisciplinary teams that include GPs, nurses, therapists, mental health professionals, social workers and council services working at neighbourhood level.
The candidate will be a social worker with experience of working in a strengths-based way with adults.
You would be joining Solihull at an exciting time as the Council changes the way in which it delivers its services, and we work in a more agile way. As a Social Worker in Solihull, you will benefit from manageable caseloads and an inclusive and supportive team culture with great scope for professional development.
We also offer comprehensive training with opportunities to study to be an Approved Mental Health Practitioner, Best Interest Assessor or a Practice Educator which provides a positive base for supervision skills and helps you to deliver training. There is also the 12-month Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) for newly qualified social workers.

Requirements
We are looking for people who have:
- A professional Social Work qualification and be Social Work England registered or be in the final academic year of a professional Social Work qualification with pending Social Work England registration.
- Knowledge of safeguarding principles and relevant legislation.
- Experience of delivering person-centred and strengths-based working including assessments and reviews.
- Detailed knowledge of the care legislation including the continuing health care framework.
- Experience of assessment, the development and planning of care and of positive risk management.
- Effective communication skills and experience of collaborative working to build effective working relationships.

Working Arrangements
Working on a hybrid basis; these roles will include a combination of office and home working with face-to-face visits and assessments being an essential element of the role.
