Social Worker / Senior Social Worker – Locality Team (Permanent)

Location: Gloucestershire County Council, Gloucester (Hybrid working available)

Salary: £39,152 – £40,777 Social Worker / £41,771 – £47,181 Senior Social Worker

£4,000 Golden Hello plus £2,000 Annual Retention

Contract: Permanent

Pro Social Partners are proud to be working in partnership with Gloucestershire County Council to recruit Social Workers and Senior Social Workers to join their Locality Teams, covering safeguarding and assessment work with children and families.

Gloucestershire's Locality Teams offer varied, community-based practice where workers stay with families through assessment and intervention, supported by visible leadership and a strong offer of supervision and development.

The Role

As a Social Worker or Senior Social Worker within a Locality Team, you will:

  • Undertake child and family assessments and manage children subject to child in need and child protection plans.
  • Complete high-quality, strengths-based assessments that clearly analyse risk, need, and protective factors.
  • Build purposeful and trusting relationships with children, young people, and families.
  • Develop and review safety and support plans that reduce risk and promote family resilience.
  • Prepare clear, analytical reports for conferences, reviews, and court where required.
  • For Senior Social Workers: provide professional guidance, mentoring, and support to less experienced colleagues.

About You

You will be a committed and capable practitioner with:

  • A recognised Social Work qualification and current Social Work England registration.
  • Post-qualifying experience within Children's Social Care.
  • Strong assessment, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Confidence working with complexity, risk, and multi-agency partners.
  • For Senior Social Worker roles: experience supporting practice development and managing more complex cases.
