Meet Soapbox
We’re Soapbox – we help every UK venture-backed startup share their funding news or launch, for free, on channels built specifically for a VC and founder audience.
We’re not chasing splashy scoops; we give every company the chance to put out a formal, third-party record of their round. No round is too small, no sector too niche – think the full-fat BusinessWire for venture. Our mantra for founders: if you do nothing else, do Soapbox.
We’ve launched in the UK with thousands of platform views and millions of impressions – but are now expanding to build Europe’s public platform of record for venture – a direct conduit that plugs founder news straight into our channels and the best new media outlets.
The role
We’re hiring a Socials Manager to bring the spotlight and credibility of “insider tech Twitter” to every startup – not just the usual suspects. We scout and surface the cool stuff from the bottom up – from every funding round to the hackathon winners no one’s covering yet.

You’ll turn this news into content: running our social channels, growing the audience, and building simple, repeatable formats people follow us for.
What You’ll Be Doing
Socials
- Run our day-to-day social across Insta, TikTok, LinkedIn and particularly X
- Turn the funding news we cover into posts people consume or share
- Grow the following and engagement on each channel
- Track, analyse and report channel performance to continuously test, learn and refine our content approach
Content
- Own the content calendar and sequencing across channels
- Push news out through repeatable pre-designed templates and round-ups
- Create scrappy, short-form street interview video for TikTok and Reels
- Turn our rich funding and launch data into simple, shareable posts
- Support content production and posts for our commercial sponsors

About You
- You’re obsessed with startups and venture, and follow the UK scene closely, and can confidentiality own our digital tone-of-voice
- You’ve got a real feel for social – you know how to tailor content across different channels including TikTok, Instagram and X. “Chronically online” etc etc.
- You can shoot and edit scrappy, native video (CapCut or similar) – fast, not fancy
- You take the initiative, move fast, and like a small, scrappy team
- You’re happy working with freelancers for the bigger design and production jobs
