General Manager – Discovery Planet (Owned by Burger King UK)

Discovery Planet | Surrey Quays Shopping Centre

At Burger King UK, we know great leaders create great experiences. That's why we're looking for a General Manager to lead Discovery Planet, our indoor soft play centre in Surrey Quays.

Discovery Planet has been part of the local community for over 20 years, providing a safe, fun and affordable place for families to spend time together. While the venue operates as Discovery Planet, it's proudly owned by Burger King UK, giving you the opportunity to join one of the UK's best-loved hospitality brands in a unique management role.

This is a genuine hands-on leadership position. You'll be out on the floor leading your team, supporting customers, making sure children have a brilliant experience and ensuring the venue runs safely and efficiently every day. If you're happiest leading from the front rather than sitting behind a desk, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the venue, creating a safe, welcoming environment for families while delivering a great customer experience.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Leading the day-to-day operation of the venue, including opening and closing each day.
  • Managing the team on shift, coaching and supporting them to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, presentation and safety across the play areas.
  • Carrying out equipment checks and ensuring all health, safety and safeguarding procedures are followed.
  • Managing stock, ordering supplies and overseeing daily cash handling and till reconciliation.
  • Recruiting, training and developing a small team while creating weekly rotas around trading hours and party bookings.
  • Handling customer enquiries, party bookings and resolving any issues professionally and positively.
  • Building relationships with local families and helping to grow repeat visits and party bookings.
  • Looking for ways to improve the customer experience and overall performance of the venue.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
