Software Alliance Ecosystem Manager
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Software Alliance Ecosystem Manager based in the United Kingdom.
This is a cross-functional technology and business development role focused on building strategic relationships across the software ecosystem.
You will work with product, engineering, marketing, and alliance teams to develop joint solutions and accelerate adoption of open-source technologies.
The role combines technical understanding, product thinking, partner management, and go-to-market strategy.
You will translate partner requirements into actionable opportunities, influence technical roadmaps, and help bring differentiated solutions to market.
You will also create customer-facing content and enable partners through training, technical materials, and collaborative initiatives.
The environment is global, highly collaborative, and remote-first, with significant exposure to senior technical and business stakeholders.
This opportunity is particularly suited to early-career professionals with up to seven years of experience who want to grow into technology-focused business development and ecosystem leadership.
Accountabilities
- Collaborate with product, engineering, alliance, and marketing teams at partner organizations to align on open-source strategies and joint opportunities.
- Capture partner requirements, assess product and technical gaps, and identify opportunities for mutually beneficial solutions.
- Coordinate with internal marketing and product teams on messaging, content development, launches, and go-to-market initiatives.
- Create compelling partner- and customer-facing materials, including reference architectures, joint solution blueprints, webinars, presentations, videos, and white papers.
- Drive adoption of Ubuntu and related technologies within targeted alliance accounts by communicating their value to technical and business stakeholders.
- Work with partners to develop enablement programs for their development, delivery, support, and commercial teams.
- Influence alliance partners to incorporate relevant technologies into their products, services, and solution strategies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships across partner organizations, from individual contributors and technical teams through to senior executives.
- Translate complex technical concepts and business requirements into clear strategies, priorities, and actionable plans.
- Balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution while coordinating initiatives across globally distributed teams.
- Represent the organization at industry events, internal conferences, and partner meetings, with international travel of up to approximately 25%.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering, or a closely related discipline, with a strong academic record or a compelling alternative career and learning path.
- Professional experience in software development, systems architecture, product management, business development, technology strategy, or a comparable technology-focused function.
- Customer-facing experience within software engineering, product management, business development, technology consulting, or related roles.
- Strong understanding of software development and system architecture, with the ability to engage credibly in technical discussions.
- Excellent communication skills across a wide range of stakeholders, including technical specialists, business leaders, and C-suite executives.
- Ability to absorb complex technical and commercial information, synthesize key points, and communicate them clearly.
- Ability to operate effectively at both strategic and tactical levels, moving from long-term planning to hands-on execution.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities across distributed teams and partner organizations.
- Self-motivated, disciplined, and comfortable working independently in a remote-first environment.
- Interest in open-source software, Linux, cloud technologies, and evolving technology ecosystems.
- Experience with open-source software and business models is an advantage.
- Previous team, product, or program management experience is beneficial.
- Familiarity with marketing and go-to-market strategies is a plus.
- Experience in sectors such as financial services, telecommunications, automotive, or the public sector is desirable.
- Knowledge of independent hardware and software vendor go-to-market models is an advantage.
- A postgraduate degree in science, technology, or engineering is a plus.
