Senior Technical Architect | 12 Months | £575/day | Newcastle, Birmingham, Leeds or Manchester
A twelve month architecture role on a live, cloud native public sector digital service that is in Beta and about to scale hard.
No security clearance required. BPSS only.
THE ROLE
You would provide architecture leadership across a distributed, cloud native service, working alongside the engineering teams rather than above them.
The service is live in Beta and preparing for significant growth, so the work splits three ways. Delivering the remaining functional capability. Getting the non functionals ready for large scale adoption. And the architecture that lets it scale to full production. You would work across multiple architecture workstreams rather than owning a single component.
WHAT YOU WOULD BE DOING
- Architecture leadership across a distributed, cloud native service
- Designing and assuring functional and non functional solutions
- Producing architecture artefacts and supporting governance
- Defining scalable, resilient service architectures
- Supporting readiness for large scale adoption
Reasons to use Rodeo
I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

WHY THIS ONE
Twelve months rather than the usual six, and no clearance gate, which on public sector work of this kind is rare.
It is also a genuinely modern stack. Kafka, event driven design, Domain Driven Design and AWS on a service that is about to go from Beta to full national scale. If you have been doing this in fintech or retail and assumed government work meant legacy, this is the one that proves otherwise.
