Job Summary
We are looking for a SEO Software Asset Management Lead and a HEO IT Asset Manager to join our IT Service Management Practice within the Transformation and Technology directorate
The HEO IT Asset manager role is multifaceted and crucial for ensuring that our organisation's IT assets are managed efficiently and effectively. This is a vital role in optimising the use of IT assets, ensuring compliance, and supporting the overall IT strategy of the organisation.
The SEO Software Asset Management Lead role will lead Software Asset Management activity within the Transformation and Technology directorate, ensuring software licences, entitlements, usage, renewals and effective licence positions are managed accurately and proactively.
Job Description
IT Asset Management (ITAM) is the systematic tracking and utilisation of an organisation’s assets, both physical and digital. It involves cataloguing, deploying, maintaining, upgrading, and responsibly disposing of assets to ensure their optimal use throughout their lifecycle. This lifecycle typically encompasses planning, procurement, deployment, maintenance, and retirement, with a focus on understanding total cost of ownership and maximising asset value
As a HEO IT Asset Manager you will bring a strong commitment to service excellence and continuous improvement. As an experienced ITAM Manager, you will be able to step straight into a busy team by being adaptable to competing demands. You will provide licensing and SAM process advice, support Product Owners with optimisation and consolidation, and use Snow, Excel and Power BI to analyse software, entitlement and infrastructure data. You will identify risks, optimisation opportunities and unused or unassigned software, support deployments and onboarding to the Approved Software Register, review Snow alerts and asset status, validate ELPs, complete audits and provide reporting to support SAM Team KPIs.
As a SEO Software Asset Manager, you will work with service, product, commercial, finance, security, architecture, supplier and business stakeholders to improve compliance, reduce risk, optimise value for money and support excellent customer outcomes in line with LR values and the DDaT/GDS Asset and Configuration Management framework. You will lead the SAM capability, governing software assets, licences, agreements, entitlements and usage data throughout their lifecycle. You will strengthen controls, standards and reporting across Snow and other data sources, provide expert licensing and compliance advice, and lead effective licence position activity for high-risk, high-value vendors including IBM, Microsoft, Oracle, Red Hat and AWS. You will build strong relationships across Transformation and Technology, Commercial, Finance, Architecture, Security, Product, Service, EUX, suppliers and business areas to support procurement, change and decommissioning activity, while using data insight to reduce risk, optimise spend, improve compliance and inform senior decision-making. You will also champion LR values, coach team members and represent SAM in governance forums.
For full details of each grade, please refer to the attached Job Descriptions.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
