For our international customer we are looking for a FinOps & Software Asset Management Lead to work remotely with occasional travel to London on a long term contract assignment.

Role Purpose

We are seeking an experienced Practice Lead to build and scale our FinOps and Software Asset Management (SAM) business across EMEA. This role will be responsible for transforming existing capabilities into a structured, repeatable and revenue-generating practice that delivers measurable value to enterprise customers.

The successful candidate will combine deep industry expertise with strong commercial acumen and a proven ability to build service offerings, drive sales engagement and establish delivery capability across multiple countries.

Key Responsibilities

Practice Development

  • Define and execute the EMEA strategy for FinOps and Software Asset Management services.
  • Develop market-leading offerings, frameworks and service catalogues.
  • Build a scalable and repeatable consulting and managed services model.
  • Create business plans, growth targets and investment proposals.

Commercial Growth

  • Support account teams in identifying, qualifying and closing opportunities.
  • Engage with C-level stakeholders and enterprise customers.
  • Drive pipeline generation and revenue growth across EMEA.
  • Develop strategic partnerships with software vendors, hyperscalers and technology providers.

Capability Building

  • Recruit, develop and mentor FinOps and SAM specialists.
  • Establish delivery methodologies, governance and quality standards.
  • Create enablement programmes for sales and consulting teams.
  • Build a sustainable capability that reduces reliance on individual experts.

Customer Engagement

  • Lead strategic advisory engagements for enterprise clients.
  • Advise customers on software optimization, cloud cost management and technology governance.
  • Support complex transformation and optimization programmes.

Experience Required

  • 10+ years of experience in Software Asset Management, FinOps, Cloud Economics or IT Asset Management.
  • Proven track record of building and scaling consulting or managed services practices.
  • Strong knowledge of software licensing, cloud consumption models and cost optimization.
  • Experience working across multiple EMEA markets.
  • Strong commercial and business development background.
  • Experience engaging with enterprise and C-level stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership and people management capability.

Preferred Qualifications

  • FinOps Foundation Certifications.
  • ITAM/SAM certifications (e.g., IAITAM, ITIL).
  • Experience with Flexera, Snow, ServiceNow or equivalent platforms.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft, AWS and Google Cloud commercial models.

  • Revenue growth of the EMEA FinOps and SAM practice.
  • Pipeline generation and conversion.
  • New service offerings launched.
  • Delivery capability established and scaled.
  • Customer satisfaction and retention.
