Express Recruitment Opportunity

Express Recruitment are delighted to be representing a rapidly growing automation and controls specialist who are continuing to expand their software capability across the UK.

About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced Test Engineer / QA professional to take ownership of software quality across the delivery of complex warehouse automation projects. You’ll be testing software that directly controls live warehouse equipment, making this a particularly hands-on role where identifying issues before deployment is critical. This is a rapidly growing industry and offers the opportunity to join a growing business allowing for future career development beyond this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working alongside Software Developers, Business Analysts, and Commissioning Engineers, you’ll be involved throughout the project lifecycle, from interpreting requirements and developing test scenarios through to pre-deployment validation, commissioning, and go-live.
  • A major focus will also be developing the company's automated testing capability and increasing test coverage across future releases.
  • Due to the project-based nature of the position, there will be occasional requirements to support customer implementations and go-lives, including some out-of-hours work when required. Candidates must be based within a commutable distance (3 days per week minimum) of the Nottingham office.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
