The Day-to-Day
As a Developer at Reward working on our loyalty platform in a fast-paced, agile environment, you will be contributing to the design and development of our core product suite working with Product Owners to deliver software that fulfils business requirements. You will gain exposure to working on platforms used by millions of people every day.
The Role
Reward recruits passionate developers who are truly interested in their chosen field. Specific languages and frameworks come and go, but at Reward, we are more interested in your approach as a developer, how you solve problems. The skills that make great developers are transferrable. If you have experience in some of the following technologies, we would be interested in speaking with you. Obviously, it’s an advantage if you know more, but we don’t expect anyone to have experience of all of them! We expect all candidates to have a related degree or equivalent relevant experience.
- Back-end software development in either NodeJS, Java, or C#.Net Core /.NET 5+
- Front-end software development using a modern JavaScript Framework (we currently use Angular)
- Building and deploying software in a Cloud Environment (we currently use AWS)
- Working in an Agile environment or a solid understanding of Agile methodologies
- Version control (we use GitHub), code reviews, and good software working practices
- Excellent communication to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Implementing best practices learned from more experienced engineers, ensuring work meets basic technical standards and quality expectations.
- Seeks feedback from more experienced engineers to improve work quality
- Recognises the business relevance of completing tasks on time and to standard and how technical work contributes to business goals
- Maintain high quality and standards company-wide, by championing our standards and principles and helping others
- Participate in technical design with guidance, building and deploying scalable software solutions in cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Working using agile practices.
- Utilising technologies like Docker and Kubernetes for deployment and management.
- Using GitHub for version control, conduct code reviews, and adhere to best development practices.
- Incorporating non-functional requirements into software development, ensuring robust and scalable solutions
