Hybrid working - Andover office

We’re looking for a Software Developer to join our Tech community and play a key role in designing, building, testing and maintaining high-quality software products that support our customers, colleagues, and business goals. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on delivering solutions, working collaboratively as part of a cross-functional delivery team.

Your Responsibilities Will Be

Software Delivery

  • Design, build, test, and maintain software solutions that meet customer, colleague, and business needs.
  • Translate user stories and acceptance criteria into clear technical tasks and deliverable solutions.
  • Break down work, assess technical feasibility, and provide realistic estimates.
  • Produce well-structured, reliable, secure, and maintainable code.

Quality & Technical Standards

  • Ensure code is well tested, using test-first approaches where appropriate.
  • Contribute to code reviews, pairing, and constructive technical feedback.
  • Consider performance, security, scalability, and maintainability as part of day-to-day development.
  • Apply engineering best practices and follow agreed technology standards.

Collaboration & Ownership

  • Work closely with developers, quality engineers, product managers, tech leads, platform engineers, and stakeholders to deliver fit-for-purpose solutions.
  • Communicate progress, risks, blockers, and technical decisions clearly and early.
  • Take ownership of work from initial understanding through to delivery.
  • Work collaboratively, supporting shared ownership of outcomes rather than working in isolation.
  • Show curiosity and willingness to learn when working with unfamiliar technologies, tools, or parts of the system.
  • Look beyond assigned tasks to identify gaps, risks, dependencies, and opportunities to support the team or improve delivery.
  • Take a thoughtful problem-solving approach, using documentation, team knowledge, engineering judgement, and appropriate tools to understand problems and shape practical outcomes.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
