Software Developer
London | Permanent | Full-time
Most developer roles ask you to ship tickets into a product backlog. This one is different.
Our client is an independent, partner-led professional services firm in the City of London. Their Technology team builds the applications, automations and integrations that the rest of the business actually uses every day - the tools that help people work well, from anywhere.
They’re looking for a Software Developer who wants to solve real operational problems, not just write code in isolation.
The Role
You’ll join a collaborative internal Technology team and work across the full development lifecycle: understanding what colleagues need, building or improving the solution, testing it, releasing it, and supporting it once it’s live.
A lot of the work sits in the modern Microsoft stack - SQL, Azure, Microsoft 365 and Power Platform - but you’ll also pick up older systems, improve them, and sometimes rewrite them. If you like variety, ownership and seeing your work used by real people, this will suit you.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
