We're moving from a traditional monolithic platform to a modern cloud-based microservices architecture, creating innovative products and services that support our advisers, business partners and customers across the UK.
As a Mid-Level Software Developer, you'll join a growing Technology team at an exciting stage of our journey. You'll work on meaningful projects, contribute to the development of modern applications and help deliver solutions that support the future of mortgage and financial services.
Whether your background is front-end, back-end or full stack development, this is a fantastic opportunity to work with modern technologies, collaborate with talented engineers and continue developing your technical expertise in a supportive Agile environment.
About The Role
Working as part of a collaborative Agile delivery team, you'll be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining software solutions that are scalable, reliable and aligned to business needs.
You'll contribute throughout the software development lifecycle, from reviewing requirements and technical designs through to development, testing and deployment. Alongside delivering quality code, you'll help identify opportunities for improvement, share ideas with the wider team and contribute to the continued evolution of our technology platforms.
We are passionate about innovation and continuously explore emerging technologies, including AI, to improve the way we build and deliver solutions.
What You'll Be Doing
- Designing, building and maintaining high-quality software solutions.
- Developing clean, efficient and reusable code aligned to engineering best practice.
- Reviewing technical specifications and solution designs before development begins.
- Working within a modern microservices architecture to deliver scalable services and applications.
- Collaborating with Product Owners, QA Engineers, DevOps Engineers and fellow Developers throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Identifying opportunities to improve existing applications, services and development processes.
- Participating in Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews and retrospectives.
- Carrying out peer code reviews and providing constructive feedback to colleagues.
- Supporting troubleshooting, defect resolution and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Producing and maintaining technical documentation where required.
- Contributing to a culture of learning, innovation and knowledge sharing across the Technology team.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
