About The Role

We are seeking a talented and motivated Software Developer to join Orchard Recruitment Ltd's dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in building, deploying, and maintaining critical AI-driven platforms that support compliance, risk, and fraud detection. Reporting directly to the Lead Developer for AI and Platforms, you will have ownership of projects from conception through to deployment and ongoing operation. This is a highly impactful position where your work will directly influence the functionality and reliability of the company's core products.

The ideal candidate will thrive in a small, agile environment where they can see the tangible results of their efforts. You will be responsible for end-to-end project delivery, including backend development, system design, integration with third-party services, and ensuring operational health. Your contributions will help shape the future of AI-powered compliance solutions, and you will have the opportunity to work with advanced AI agents, develop scalable systems, and contribute across various technical domains.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess a strong foundation in back-end engineering, with proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Go, or Java. You should have experience designing and deploying scalable, reliable systems in cloud environments, with a good understanding of deployment pipelines and infrastructure management. A solid grasp of system design principles, including failure handling, data integrity, and maintainability, is essential.

Experience working with AI agents, such as Claude Code or similar, and understanding their integration, context management, and orchestration is highly desirable. You should be comfortable with API design and third-party service integration, ensuring clean interfaces and smooth connectivity. Familiarity with security best practices, especially when handling sensitive data, is also important.

A proactive mindset, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to adapt to new technologies quickly will set you apart. Although not mandatory, experience with front-end development or UI design, as well as proficiency in multiple programming languages, will be considered advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and own end-to-end projects, including backend logic, deployment strategies, and maintenance routines to ensure system health and performance.
  • Create simple, readable, and scalable system architectures that facilitate ease of use and future development.
  • Work with AI agents, integrating them into existing systems, and understanding when to trust their outputs and when to intervene.
  • Integrate third-party services such as KYC providers, payment platforms, gaming systems, and forensic data sources to enhance platform capabilities.
  • Contribute to various technical areas as needed, including front-end development, data processing, and infrastructure management.
  • Participate in system design discussions, code reviews, and testing to uphold high-quality standards.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot deployed services, ensuring high availability and security compliance.
  • Stay updated with emerging AI and software development trends to continuously improve platform features and performance.
