About The Role

Reed is seeking a passionate and skilled Software Developer to join its dynamic development team on a three-year fixed-term contract. This fully remote role offers the flexibility to work from anywhere, with occasional travel to Exeter. The successful candidate will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining in-house software solutions that align with the organization’s strategic goals. Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in commercial software development with a strong technical background. Essential qualifications include proficiency in .NET technologies, particularly C# and MVC.NET, along with solid experience in SQL and Azure DevOps or Git for version control. A strong front-end reactive experience, especially with Angular, is required to develop engaging and responsive user interfaces. Candidates should possess expertise in T-SQL and JSON, with a deep understanding of database structures and query optimization techniques. Experience developing cloud-based solutions within Azure is highly desirable. The candidate should demonstrate a structured, analytical mindset with meticulous attention to detail, complemented by a proactive and collaborative approach to working in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

The Software Developer will be responsible for a range of technical and collaborative tasks, including:

  • Designing, developing, and maintaining in-house software solutions to meet organizational needs and strategic objectives.
  • Writing clean, reusable, and secure code that ensures the smooth operation of systems and applications.
  • Identifying areas for improvement within existing software and developing innovative solutions to enhance performance and user experience.
  • Conducting thorough testing and quality assurance to ensure software is bug-free, secure, and aligned with business requirements.
  • Collaborating with IT colleagues and other departments to ensure software solutions support overall business objectives.
  • Maintaining and optimizing systems across multiple platforms, ensuring their reliability, security, and efficiency.
  • Managing and maintaining code repositories using Azure DevOps, ensuring version control and collaborative development practices are followed.
