About The Role
We are seeking a talented back-end software developer to join our dynamic technology team at Nucleus Financial. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and enhancement of our industry-leading platform. The successful candidate will primarily focus on back-end software development, working across various disciplines within product delivery. You will be responsible for building robust Java applications, integrating data with third-party providers, and leveraging cloud-based services such as AWS to deliver scalable and secure solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in object-oriented programming, preferably Java, along with experience or interest in cloud computing and modern development practices. We value cultural fit and a growth mindset, so previous experience in a fast-paced, agile environment is advantageous. Key qualifications include:
- Proficiency in Java or other object-oriented programming languages
- Experience with building backend applications within cross-functional teams
- Understanding of clean code principles, software design, and best practices
- Knowledge of AWS or similar cloud services such as serverless architectures, SQS, RDS, DynamoDB, S3, CloudFormation, and CDK
- Familiarity with relational databases and SQL
- Experience with containerization tools like Docker
- Knowledge of GraphQL and version control systems such as Git
- Experience with unit testing and Agile methodologies

Responsibilities
As a back-end developer at Nucleus Financial, your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with other developers and analysts to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java and related technologies
- Building and deploying serverless applications on AWS, utilizing services such as SQS, RDS, DynamoDB, S3, and CloudFormation
- Integrating data seamlessly with third-party providers to enhance platform capabilities
- Implementing continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to ensure efficient and reliable software releases
- Assessing the impact and benefits of new technologies, APIs, and development methodologies to improve platform performance and security
- Taking ownership of tasks and delivering outcomes that prioritize customer satisfaction and operational excellence
- Upholding Nucleus values and behaviors, ensuring compliance with the Code of Conduct at all times
- Engaging in regular code reviews, testing, and documentation to maintain high-quality standards
