Software Developer, API & Integrations
Salary: £75,000 + Bonus + Benefits
Location: Remote + Occasional travel to London

I’m working with a growing business with a well-known insurance broker that is looking to appoint a Senior Software Developer with a strong focus on backend development, APIs and systems integration.
This is a hands on engineering role within a modern Microsoft environment, focused on designing and developing scalable APIs and backend services that connect internal applications, digital platforms and third party systems.
The role would suit an experienced Software Developer, Backend Engineer,.NET Developer, Integration Developer or API Engineer who has spent a significant part of their recent career working across API and integration development.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services using C#,.NET and ASP.NET Core
- Build secure and scalable integration services across internal and third party platforms
- Own API design including endpoints, data contracts, versioning, validation and error handling
- Develop and deploy cloud based services within Microsoft Azure
- Work with Azure App Services, Azure Functions and Azure SQL
- Develop authentication and authorisation solutions using OAuth and Microsoft Entra ID
- Produce and maintain API documentation using OpenAPI and Swagger
- Support integration between digital applications and wider enterprise systems
- Contribute to API architecture, technical design and engineering standards
- Work across the full software development lifecycle from design through to production support
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments and modern DevOps practices
- Work closely with technical and business stakeholders in an Agile environment

Technical Skills
- C# /.NET / ASP.NET Core

- OpenAPI / Swagger
- OAuth / Microsoft Entra ID
- Entity Framework
- Azure DevOps, CI/CD and Git
- Event driven architecture and Azure Service Bus
- Microservices and serverless development
Desirable
- Blazor or wider full stack development experience.
Previous experience within insurance, financial services or another regulated sector would be beneficial, although the priority is finding a strong backend engineer with genuine depth across C#/.NET, Azure, APIs and integrations.
