Software Developer – Application Engineering
Location: Bracknell, UK
Assessment Day: 4 September | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Our client is looking for a Software Developer with a strong focus on Application Engineering to join their team based in Bracknell. The role is focused on designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining applications and services, with C# development at its core.
As part of the recruitment process, shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an in-person Assessment Day on 4 September. Candidates must be available to attend the full day from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Key Responsibilities
Development
- Write clean and maintainable code, principally using C#.
- Design the architecture of new application components.
- Work within an Agile team to develop back-end applications and features that meet customer and project requirements.
- Thoroughly test new features and developments.
- Work closely with Quality Assurance teams to validate builds before release.
- Contribute to development specifications and technical design decisions.
Maintenance & Improvement
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve software bugs.
- Perform ongoing maintenance and upgrades of applications and platforms.
- Participate in peer code reviews.
- Contribute ideas to improve applications, development processes, and the wider platform.
- Review projects and deployments to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Design and pilot prototype applications where required.
- Stay up to date with software development trends, frameworks, and emerging technologies.

About You
Our client is looking for candidates with:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in STEM, Computer Science, or a related subject.
- Experience developing commercial projects or applications using C#.
- Experience with SQL and relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server.
- Experience using source control, particularly Git.
- Experience working within an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Knowledge of OWASP ASVS or equivalent application security standards.
- Experience with.NET 5 or.NET 6.
- Experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, and React.js.
- Knowledge or experience of Docker and Kubernetes.
Assessment Day – 4 September
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend our client’s in-person Assessment Day in Bracknell on 4 September.
Time: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Attendance for the entire Assessment Day is mandatory, so candidates should only apply if they are available to attend in person for the full day.
