About the Opportunity

Chi Square Group is delighted to be partnering with a technical consultancy firm in the search for a Software Developer to join its growing technology team in Newcastle.

The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, developing, and delivering innovative software solutions. Working on a diverse range of projects, you will have the opportunity to build scalable applications, solve complex technical challenges, and contribute to the development of systems that have a tangible impact on a fast-growing organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality software applications and services.
  • Take full ownership of technical projects, from understanding stakeholder needs to delivering solutions that work.
  • Collaborate with business users and technical teams to identify opportunities for innovation and process improvement.
  • Challenge existing processes with technical and innovative thinking.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies, development frameworks, and industry best practices.
  • Participate in code reviews and promote high standards of software engineering across the team.

Candidate Requirements

  • Strong A-Level (3A's Minimum or International Equivalent)
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from a Globally recognised university/ Top 300 in the world (minimum grade 2:1)
  • Strong programming skills in Python, Java, React, Rust, C# and .NET
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and take ownership of projects.
  • Strong experience working across Azure and AWS
  • Experience within financial services or a consultancy environment is desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Highly organised and motivated to continuously learn and develop new technical skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach to identifying and solving challenges.
