About The Role
We are seeking a motivated Mid-Level Software Developer to join a rapidly expanding FinTech company known for its cutting-edge financial planning and modelling technology. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a highly skilled engineering team responsible for developing market-leading applications utilized by major financial institutions across the UK. The ideal candidate will have a passion for solving complex technical problems, taking ownership of projects, and working in an environment that encourages innovation, experimentation, and continuous improvement. - Proven commercial experience with Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript
- Full-stack development experience with React and Node.js
- Knowledge of database technologies such as MongoDB, Redis, or similar
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing
- Understanding of modern software engineering principles and Agile methodologies
- Strong problem-solving skills coupled with a proactive and collaborative approach
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools is highly beneficial
Additionally, candidates should demonstrate excellent communication skills, adaptability, and a keen interest in leveraging new technologies to improve software solutions.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of tasks, including:
- Developing, maintaining, and enhancing applications using TypeScript, JavaScript, and Node.js
- Working across the full technology stack with React, Node.js, MongoDB, and Redis
- Designing and improving financial modelling applications to meet client requirements
- Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and containerized environments to streamline deployment processes
- Utilizing modern AI development tools to support coding, refactoring, and debugging activities
- Reviewing AI-generated code for security, performance, and quality assurance
- Developing automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure software reliability
- Collaborating closely with product managers and business stakeholders to align development efforts with business goals
- Taking ownership of technical challenges from identification through resolution, ensuring timely and effective solutions
