Position Description

As a Software Developer, you'll join the Space, Defence and Intelligence business unit, working alongside clients to design, build and evolve complex software solutions that solve real-world challenges. The role requires you to hold or obtain UK Security Clearance, the role will be based on a secure site.
Your Future Duties and Responsibilities
As a Software Developer, you'll contribute across the full software development lifecycle, working within multidisciplinary teams to deliver secure solutions for our defence and intelligence clients.
You will:
- Design, develop and maintain secure, scalable software applications.
- Work across the full development lifecycle, from concept through to deployment and support.
- Collaborate closely with architects, engineers and client stakeholders to solve complex technical challenges.
- Build modern cloud-native applications using contemporary development practices.
- Improve existing systems through performance optimisation, automation and continuous improvement.
- Support live environments, troubleshooting issues and delivering enhancements.
- Share knowledge with colleagues while continually developing your own technical expertise.

Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role
We're looking for collaborative Software Developers who enjoy solving challenging technical problems and are passionate about delivering high-quality software. You'll be comfortable working across multiple technologies and committed to continuous learning within a fast-paced, agile environment.
Experience in some of the following areas is desirable:
- Strong programming fundamentals with experience in one or more languages such as Java, Python or Rust.
- Experience designing and developing secure, scalable and maintainable software solutions.
- Front-end development using frameworks such as React, Angular or Vue.js.
- Modern DevOps practices including GitLab CI/CD, automation and continuous integration.
- Infrastructure as Code using technologies such as Terraform or Ansible.
- Containerisation and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience working with AWS or other cloud platforms.
- Agile software delivery methodologies including Scrum or Kanban.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical teams and clients.
