Working style: Hybrid 50% home/office based

We have a unique opportunity to offer roles within the Chief Operating Office that will help shape the future of Royal London, across several disciplines.

Our Chief Operating Office (COO) works across Royal London to help deliver the Group’s strategic ambitions. We work in partnership to deliver operational excellence, drive innovation, enhance customer experience, and protect our business from threats impacting our industry.

We are seeking expertly skilled and experienced Software Developer Engineer in Test to play a central role in building amazing digital solutions for our customers and business users. The team will be focused on delivering a new state-of-the-art investments platform, an undertaking that is expected to take several years.

About the role

We are forming new engineering capability in our Alderley Park office to deliver and maintain a new technology solution which will support our investment product offering.

About you

  • Expert in test automation frameworks, including Playwright and Selenium.
  • Highly proficient in TypeScript, JavaScript, and HTML, with strong software engineering practices.
  • Extensive experience designing, developing, and maintaining automated test scenarios and test suites.
  • Strong understanding of modern web architectures, including Angular, GraphQL, and RESTful microservices.
  • Experienced working with databases, including MongoDB and Oracle.
  • Skilled in cross-browser, accessibility, and end-to-end testing across web applications.
  • Proven experience working within Agile delivery environments and modern software development lifecycles.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a focus on quality, reliability, and risk mitigation.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently while mentoring and supporting others.
  • Committed to continuous improvement, driving testing best practice, quality standards, and innovation.
