About The Job
We are looking for a Software Developer - MES to join our team.
As a Software Developer, you’ll play an integral role in the development, integration, and testing of complex Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) for a range of clients. Working across real-world industrial projects, you'll contribute to building robust, reliable software solutions that meet high technical standards.
You’ll also take the lead in designing and costing low-complexity MES projects, configuring MES systems with confidence and minimal supervision, all while following established guidelines and best practices. This role offers the opportunity to apply modern software development techniques in practical, impactful ways.
Supported by experienced Senior Software Developers, you'll continue to build your technical expertise and deepen your knowledge of MES implementation, making this a great opportunity to grow within a collaborative, high-performing team.

You Will
SUMMARY OF ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Actively engage in continuous learning to enhance technical skills and knowledge in Software Development, Manufacturing Digital Systems, and best practices, while proactively exploring new technologies, methodologies, and quality improvements.
- Scope, cost and design small complexity MES jobs.
- Work with clients to identify solutions and enhancements for their systems that are appropriate to the needs of the clients.
- Configure and develop new functionality in line with design scope. Take personal accountability for the quality and deadlines of their work.
- Flag to Project Manager where any aspect of project quality or deliverables is at risk.
- Prepare and execute system testing and validation activities to ensure performance meets requirements.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including requirements, design specifications, and test plans.
- Support on commissioning at client sites alone or in collaboration with consultants.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, automation engineers, Consultants, and project management, to ensure successful project delivery.
- Participate in an agile methodology team, including keeping planning boards up to date and participating in daily scrums; being ready to provide a concise and accurate status report and estimations of ongoing tasks.
- Follow all health and safety regulations, procedures and protocols and promptly escalates situations where procedures are not adhered to.
- Assist with any other duties reasonably requested and in line with the requirements of the post.
- Suggest changes and improvements if opportunities arise.

Summary Of Requirements
We are looking for:
Experience And Knowledge
- Experience with one of the following: ASP.NET, Java, Python.
- Knowledge of MES systems or Manufacturing industries.
- Experience with using distributed version control systems like GIT.
- Familiarity with SOLID principles and good development practices.
- Basic understanding of Software Development principles and methodologies.
- Understanding of Agile Software Development principles.
- Basic experience of using and setting up relational databases.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or computing related degree.
Skills And Abilities
- Good verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration and client interaction.
- Good analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Able to multi-task, working on various issues throughout the working day.
