Valu-Trac was established in 1985. It provides accounting and administrative services to the UK fund industry for over 113 funds and has assets under administration of over £15.0 billion as at 30th April 2026.
The role
The Software Developer will report to the IT Systems Development Manager as part of that team. The Software Developer will be responsible for implementing reports and integrations for Valu-Trac systems.
Their main responsibilities for the role include:
- Work as part of the VT software development team
- Work closely with VT Subject Matter Experts (SME) to understand the business requirements.
- Streamlining business processes and expand straight through processing
- Timely development of solutions to meet the business requirements
- Assisting with solution testing and provide process documentation
- Communicating work progress and results to stakeholders
- Ensuring that solutions are implemented effectively and deliver the desired results
- Assisting with training and the documentation for ongoing support of developed solutions
- Maintaining system reference and configuration data

Key skills/attributes:
The successful candidate will display:
- Minimum 3 years experience in a commercial environment
- Languages: SQL (in particular Oracle and T-SQL Dialects), VBA, powershell
- Ability to organise themselves and tasks
- Attention to detail
- Strong creative and analytical thinking
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work to tight deadlines
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders
