About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Software Developer (.Net) to join our client's innovative technology team in Bridgend. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead the development of a new enterprise-grade, event-driven integration platform on the Microsoft Azure stack. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering cutting-edge digital services that have a tangible impact on the organization’s operations. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the technical direction, establishing best practices, and mentoring emerging developers within the team.
Initially working alongside external consultants, you will quickly take ownership of the project as the in-house technical lead, guiding the team through complex technical challenges and ensuring the successful delivery of the platform. This position is ideal for a proactive, customer-focused professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is eager to contribute to a digital transformation journey. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background with proven experience in enterprise software development, particularly within the Microsoft Azure environment. Essential qualifications include advanced skills in .NET and C#, along with hands-on experience developing event-driven architectures using Azure Service Bus, Event Hubs, and Event Grid. Candidates should also have a solid understanding of API and microservice development utilizing Azure Functions, API Management, and Web Apps. Knowledge of Azure data services such as SQL, Storage, Data Lake, and Cosmos DB is also required.
Furthermore, candidates should demonstrate leadership capabilities, with a history of guiding development teams and mentoring junior staff. Excellent communication skills are essential for engaging both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Experience working within agile teams and a track record of delivering scalable, secure enterprise solutions will be highly valued. Certifications in Microsoft Azure or related technologies are desirable, as are familiarity with GraphQL, Kafka, DevOps practices, and observability/security tools within Azure.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop an event-driven API and microservices platform on Azure, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability.
- Integrate multiple third-party systems seamlessly into the platform, maintaining high standards of security and data integrity.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to facilitate smooth deployment, continuous integration, and operational stability.
- Establish and enforce coding standards, best practices, and quality assurance throughout the development lifecycle.
- Present proofs of concept, evaluate emerging technologies, and guide technical decision-making processes.
- Recruit, mentor, and lead a team of developers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to the organization’s wider digital and technological strategy, aligning development efforts with business objectives.
