About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Software Developer (.Net) to join our dynamic team in Bridgend on a hybrid working basis. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead the development of a new digital platform from inception, playing a pivotal role in shaping the future of our digital services. As the first member of our in-house development team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and delivering an enterprise-grade, event-driven integration platform on the Microsoft Azure stack. You will collaborate closely with consultants initially, before taking full ownership of the project as the technical lead, setting standards, mentoring junior developers, and contributing to our broader digital transformation strategy.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background with extensive experience in enterprise solutions on Microsoft Azure. Relevant qualifications include advanced proficiency in .NET and C#, along with hands-on experience with event-driven architectures and Azure services. Certifications such as Microsoft Azure certifications are highly desirable, demonstrating your commitment to professional development and expertise. Additionally, familiarity with API and microservices development, Azure data services, and DevOps practices will be advantageous. The candidate should also demonstrate excellent communication skills, leadership qualities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving and innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop an event-driven API and microservices platform utilizing Azure technologies such as Azure Functions, Event Hubs, and Service Bus.
  • Integrate multiple third-party systems securely and reliably, ensuring seamless data flow and system interoperability.
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to facilitate smooth deployment, monitoring, and operational management of applications.
  • Establish and maintain coding standards, best practices, and quality assurance processes throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Present proofs of concept to stakeholders and provide technical guidance to inform strategic decisions.
  • Recruit, mentor, and lead a team of developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence.
  • Contribute to the development of wider digital and technology strategies, aligning technical initiatives with organizational goals.
