About The Role
We are seeking an experienced and innovative Senior Software Developer (.Net) to join our dynamic team in Bridgend, operating on a hybrid work basis. This pivotal role involves leading the development of a new enterprise-grade, event-driven integration platform on the Microsoft Azure stack. As the first member of our in-house development team, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and delivering cutting-edge digital services that have a tangible impact on our organization’s digital transformation journey. The role offers an exciting opportunity to shape a new digital function from the ground up, working closely with consultants initially, before taking ownership as the technical lead. You will also be responsible for mentoring and growing a team of developers, establishing best practices, and contributing to the broader technology strategy.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in enterprise software development with substantial experience working on Microsoft Azure platforms. Relevant qualifications include advanced proficiency in .NET and C#, along with hands-on experience with event-driven design and related technologies such as Azure Service Bus, Event Hubs, and Event Grid. Certifications in Microsoft Azure are highly desirable, demonstrating your commitment to continuous professional development. Additionally, familiarity with API and microservices development using Azure tools like Functions, API Management, and Web Apps is essential. Knowledge of data services such as SQL, Storage, Data Lake, and Cosmos DB will be advantageous. Strong leadership skills, experience mentoring developers, and excellent communication abilities are also key requirements for this role.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop an event-driven API and microservices platform on Azure, ensuring scalability and security.
- Integrate multiple third-party systems securely and reliably, maintaining high standards of data integrity and privacy.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to facilitate seamless deployment, monitoring, and operational management of digital services.
- Establish coding standards, best practices, and quality assurance processes across the development lifecycle.
- Present proof of concepts and provide technical guidance to stakeholders and team members.
- Recruit, mentor, and lead a team of developers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
- Contribute to the development of wider digital and technology strategies aligned with organizational goals.
