Maven Securities

Maven Securities is a leading proprietary trading firm that leverages sophisticated technology and quantitative analysis to trade in global financial markets. We specialise in options and derivatives market making, where your skills can be directly applied to have a real impact.

Programme Details

  • Location: London
  • Programme dates: 21st June - 20 August 2027
  • Application deadline: 21st October 2026

You’ll begin with a structured 2-week training programme, designed to prepare you for your project work. This initial phase focuses on building the technical foundations and domain knowledge needed for the projects.

Following training, you’ll transition on to a 7-week project, where you’ll continue to learn through hands-on experience. Intern projects allow you to learn new skills and experience what life is like in a Maven Technology team.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Be directly embedded in Maven engineering teams to work on real-world problems
  • Have a direct impact on the day-to-day workings of a high-performance trading firm
  • Collaborate directly with Developers and Traders

How And What You Will Learn

  • Progress through a structured onboarding programme with clear learning milestones
  • Build your foundation through theory and exercise-led training, led by Maven’s Head of Technology Training & Graduates
  • Gain in-depth insight into the work you could expect to be doing as a future Graduate Developer by attending desk shadowing opportunities with current Graduates, across a range of Technology teams
  • Our technical syllabus covers the fundamentals of some of Maven’s main programming languages, e.g. C++, C# and Python, as well as TypeScript and React
  • Attend regular check-ins with the Technology and Emerging Talent teams

Who You Are

Key Criteria:

  • A penultimate-year undergraduate or master’s student
  • A genuine interest in software development and a curiosity to learn
  • Familiarity with one or more programming languages
  • A willingness to adopt and utilise emerging AI technologies
