Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a deep foundation in software engineering, backed by a strong academic background in a technical discipline. Essential qualifications include advanced proficiency in programming languages such as C#/.NET, Java, Rust, or Python. Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering complex software solutions is crucial, along with a proven ability to write clean, maintainable code suitable for low-latency or complex enterprise environments. Strong communication skills are necessary to articulate technical decisions effectively to stakeholders. Candidates should demonstrate a strategic problem-solving mindset and a commitment to engineering excellence. Exposure to high-throughput platforms or financial services technology is advantageous, but not mandatory. British nationality is essential to meet site regulations, and dual nationalities are supported.
Responsibilities
- Architecting and delivering resilient software solutions tailored to high-stakes defence challenges.
- Partnering directly with domain experts to translate complex technical problems into robust, scalable code.
- Evaluating and integrating emerging tools and technologies to uphold high engineering standards, ensuring systems are resilient, efficient, and secure.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives across the core codebase, architecture, and delivery pipelines to enhance system performance and maintainability.
- Participating in technical reviews, mentoring junior team members, and contributing to the evolution of software development best practices within the organization.
