About The Role
MCS Group is partnering with a well-established organization that has heavily invested in its internal engineering capabilities. Following significant digital transformation efforts, the company is expanding its software development team and seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer. This role offers an exciting opportunity to influence the technical direction of a large-scale cloud platform used daily by thousands of users. The successful candidate will be instrumental in driving the next phase of development, working on modern technologies, and shaping the future of the product.
This position is not a maintenance role but a strategic one, focused on evolving a cloud-native platform by delivering new functionalities, enhancing performance and scalability, and establishing best engineering practices. The Senior Software Developer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product stakeholders, to address real business challenges, contribute to architectural decisions, and foster continuous improvement within the engineering function.

Qualifications
- Proven commercial experience developing applications with TypeScript and Node.js
- Strong background in modern frontend development, preferably with React or similar frameworks
- Experience in developing cloud-hosted applications, with AWS being preferred
- Knowledge of REST APIs and microservice architecture
- Proficiency in SQL databases and data modeling
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern development practices
- A passion for writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
- Excellent collaboration skills and a proactive approach to continuous improvement
Ideal candidates will have a mix of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a collaborative mindset, eager to contribute to a fast-paced, innovative environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance cloud-native applications using modern technologies and best practices
- Collaborate with product stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable microservices and REST APIs
- Contribute to architectural decisions and technical strategy for the platform
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment processes to ensure high-quality deliverables
- Support continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines to streamline development workflows
- Identify opportunities for performance improvements and implement solutions to optimize system efficiency
- Mentor junior team members and promote engineering best practices within the team
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously enhance skills and knowledge
