Role Description
This is a full-time, remote Software Developer role. The Software Developer will design, develop, test, and maintain software solutions that support thermal energy, fluid technology, and industrial process applications across the Spirax Group businesses. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

- Writing clean and efficient code
- Participating in code reviews
- Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues
- Collaborating closely with product, engineering, and operations teams to align software functionality with business and customer needs

The role involves:
- Contributing to system architecture
- Integrating software with industrial control and data systems
- Documenting technical designs
- Maintaining high standards of security, performance, and reliability
The Software Developer will also:
- Support continuous improvement efforts
- Adopt best practices in software development
- Provide input into future product enhancements and innovation initiatives
Qualifications
- Strong programming skills in one or more modern languages (e.g., C#, Java, Python, or C++), with experience in object-oriented design and software development best practices.
- Hands-on experience with software engineering tools and methodologies, such as version control (e.g., Git), unit testing, continuous integration, and agile development frameworks.
- Knowledge of industrial or embedded systems, data acquisition, or integration with hardware, control systems, or IoT platforms is highly beneficial.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, APIs, microservices, and database technologies (SQL and/or NoSQL) for building scalable, reliable applications.
- Ability to analyze requirements, translate business and technical needs into robust solutions, and produce clear technical documentation.
- Collaborative mindset with strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional, multi-disciplinary teams.
- Relevant degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Interest in sustainability, industrial efficiency, and decarbonisation technologies, with a willingness to learn domain-specific concepts.
