Arcus FM is seeking a talented Software Development Engineer to join our innovative team.

In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain software applications that drive success for our business and clients.

Although this role allows for primarily remote working, there is a requirement to attend the Redditch office at least once a month.


What You'll Be Doing

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including designers, product managers, and fellow developers to deliver scalable, high-quality software solutions
  • Write, test, and deploy clean, efficient, and maintainable code across a range of applications
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems to improve performance and security
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation
  • Drive innovation by proposing and implementing new technologies to enhance development processes and product performance
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand and translate technical and business requirements into actionable solutions

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Professional experience in software development engineering
  • Strong problem-solving skills and an innovative mindset
  • Proficiency in multiple programming languages and frameworks, including JavaScript (JS), React, NodeJS (ExpressJS), Python, SQL, and CSS
  • Solid understanding of front-end and back-end development
  • Experience with software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies
  • Familiarity with database management systems (e.g., MySQL, SQL Server) and version control tools like Git
  • Ability to optimize applications for speed, scalability, and reliability
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field

  • Certifications in relevant technologies are a bonus
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines is a plus
