Software Development Team Leader

Northampton - 5 Days On-Site

£40,000 - £50,000 + Holiday + Pension

Are you an experienced Software Development leader with a passion for audio technology, Agile delivery, and driving high-performing teams to create innovative products from concept through to production?

This is an excellent opportunity to lead a talented software team within a forward-thinking R&D environment, working on cutting-edge digital and firmware-based products. You will take ownership of team performance, technical direction, and delivery, ensuring projects are executed efficiently and to the highest standards.

In this role, you will be responsible for guiding the development lifecycle from ideation through to production, collaborating with cross-functional teams and external partners. You will play a key role in shaping product innovation while maintaining robust development processes and Agile practices.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical foundation combined with proven leadership experience. You will thrive in a hands-on environment, be comfortable managing priorities, and have a genuine interest in audio, DSP, or music-related technologies.

The Role

  • Lead and develop a high-performing software team within R&D.
  • Drive the design and delivery of scalable software and firmware solutions.
  • Manage Agile sprint planning, workloads, and stakeholder communication.
  • Oversee full project lifecycle from concept through to production.
  • Collaborate with OEM partners and cross-functional product teams.

The Person

  • Proven experience leading software development teams.
  • Strong background in software engineering and Agile methodologies.
  • Experience delivering projects end-to-end in a commercial setting.
  • Must play the Guitar.
  • Interest in audio, DSP, or music technologies.
