About The Role

As a Software Developer: Generalist at IBM Computing, you will play a vital role in designing, developing, testing, and delivering high-quality software solutions. Your work will involve collaborating within an Agile environment to understand stakeholder requirements and translate them into innovative, scalable products. You will contribute to the entire software development lifecycle, from initial design to deployment, ensuring that each solution aligns with business objectives and technical standards. This role provides an excellent opportunity to work with leading-edge technologies, enhance your technical expertise, and make a tangible impact on global digital transformation initiatives.

Qualifications

Successful candidates will possess experience in back-end development, with a strong understanding of designing, coding, and testing software components. Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, debugging complex issues, and working within Agile teams is essential. Preferred qualifications include experience in L3 support engineering, DevOps practices, and front-end development technologies. Candidates should demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to collaborate effectively in diverse teams, and a passion for continuous learning and innovation. A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is highly desirable, along with relevant professional certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test component-level software solutions, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and ready for integration into larger products.
  • Contribute to the automated CI/CD pipeline, supporting code quality, automated testing, and seamless deployment processes.
  • Debug customer-reported problems by analyzing issues, designing fixes, and thoroughly testing solutions to ensure resolution and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to gather requirements, align on project goals, and deliver solutions that meet or exceed expectations.
  • Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives, to foster a collaborative and transparent development environment.
  • Maintain high standards of code quality, documentation, and testing to ensure reliability and maintainability of software offerings.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices, applying them to enhance product innovation and development efficiency.
