Software Engineer | Systematic Hedge Fund | London
I’m working with a leading global investment management firm looking to hire a talented Software Engineer into its growing Systematic Investment business in London.
This is an engineering-heavy position where you’ll help build the core technology underpinning a sophisticated systematic fixed income investment platform, working closely with Systems, Quantitative and Platform Infrastructure Engineers.
The role offers genuine end-to-end ownership, from designing and building new systems through to deployment and production.
What you’ll be working on:
- Building core services across trade management, position management, reference data, and compliance
- Developing high-quality production systems primarily in Python, with opportunities to work extensively with Rust
- Building common libraries, APIs, and software infrastructure
- Working across CI/CD, testing, deployment, and production systems
- Collaborating directly with Portfolio Management, Operations, and other investment teams
- Solving complex engineering problems that have a direct impact on the investment process

What we’re looking for:
- Strong Python engineering experience
- Core Java, C++, or Rust experience – or a genuine interest in developing with Rust
- Strong software engineering and problem-solving fundamentals
- Experience with areas such as SQL, APIs, Kubernetes, server-side development, or CI/CD would be beneficial
- Previous experience within Fixed Income, Quant Finance, or Investment Management is advantageous but NOT essential - This could be particularly interesting for a strong software engineer who wants to move closer to systematic investing and quantitative finance, without needing to already come from a hedge fund.
