Software Engineer (C++ and QT)
12 month contract
Based in Bristol
Offering £65ph Inside IR35

About the Role
As the Software Engineer, you will be working alongside a market-leading Defence and Aerospace company who are constantly growing and developing. They are always looking to bring on new talents such as yourself and further develop your skills to enable you to grow within the company and industry. Due to the nature of the work, SC clearance is required.

Key Responsibilities
You will be involved in:
- Producing a Software Console product, replacing an existing version with better software architecture making the product more maintainable and verifiable going forward.
- This is not an update, but a remake.
- Primarily an independent task, but you will be based within a team for support/input and to ensure that the resulting product operates within the intended system.
Required Skills
Your skillset may include:
- A strong background in software engineering, its realisation and system-wide impact.
- Experience of working in C++ and QT.
- Experience of working across the entire software development process from engaging with requirement authorities to automated proving, supported with effective documentation.
- Experience in other languages such as Ada.
- Knowledge of DDS and multi-threaded applications.
- Knowledge of standards such as DefStan 00-55, DO-178C, or IEC61508, and restricted coding standards such as MISRA C++.
