Role: Software Engineer (TypeScript, React, AWS)
Salary: £65,000-£75,000
Location: 90% remote, 1 office day every 2 weeks in Birmingham city centre
Responsibilities
- Build and improve the customer-facing web platform using TypeScript, React and Next.js
- Own features end to end, from scoping with the commercial team through to release
- Help shape and deliver the move to mobile, with iOS and Android apps on the roadmap
- Improve the claim journey: onboarding flows, identity verification steps, claim tracking and customer messaging
- Work with Supabase across the data layer, auth and backend services
- Ship and manage front end deployments on Vercel
- Build and maintain cloud infrastructure across AWS and GCP, keeping things reliable, secure and cost-sensible
- Work on integrations with third-party and government services, making sure data is handled securely and accurately
- Improve conversion, speed and usability, working closely with growth and marketing

Requirements
- Strong commercial experience with TypeScript, React and Next.js
- Hands-on experience with Supabase (Postgres, auth, storage or edge functions)
- Experience deploying and running applications on Vercel
- Solid working knowledge of AWS and GCP
- Experience building consumer-facing products where UX and conversion matter
- Able to work independently, make sensible technical calls and communicate clearly with non-technical people
- A practical approach: you care about shipping things that work, not over-engineering

Nice to have
- React Native or other mobile app experience
- Experience in fintech, regulated services, or products handling sensitive personal and financial data
- Third-party API integrations, particularly identity or payments
- CI/CD and infrastructure as code (CDK, Terraform or similar)
