Join a dynamic team delivering cutting-edge cloud migration and data management projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. As a Software Engineer, you’ll work within a Scrum team to design, develop, and implement innovative solutions, leveraging your expertise in cloud and data technologies. This role offers the opportunity to tackle complex challenges, contribute to mission-critical systems, and grow your technical skills in a supportive, forward-thinking setting.

What you’ll do

We’re seeking a talented Software Engineer to join our team, working on high-impact projects focused on cloud migration and data management. You’ll collaborate in a Scrum environment, developing and maintaining robust solutions using a combination of AWS, Python, Java, OpenShift, NiFi, and Apache technologies. Your role will involve building scalable, secure systems and contributing to the full software development lifecycle.

What we’re looking for

  • Proven experience in software development, ideally within the public sector.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud technologies (AWS, OpenShift) and data management solutions, with hands-on experience in Python, Java, NiFi, and Apache technologies.
  • Understanding of secure software development practices, DevOps methodologies, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong technical communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and familiarity with agile development practices.
  • Relevant technical qualifications or certifications (e.g. AWS Certified, Java/Python certifications, or similar) – desirable but not essential.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a focus on delivering practical, actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to create clear reports and engaging presentations.
  • A collaborative mindset and commitment to Austin Elliot's people-first, can-do culture.
  • Will be required to hold a higher level of clearance.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
