Forward Deployed Engineer

I’m working with a leading technology business looking for experienced Forward Deployed Engineers to help development teams ship software faster, safer and more reliably. This is a genuinely hands-on role — roughly 70% coding and configuration — sitting across Software Engineering, DevOps and SRE.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Driving Continuous Delivery, CI/CD and automated testing
  • Building robust test suites and championing TDD / shift-left testing
  • Containerising applications with Docker / Kubernetes / OpenShift
  • Improving deployment, observability and security practices
  • Modernising Java/JVM and TypeScript applications
  • Automating infrastructure and application deployments
  • Helping teams adopt AI-assisted development

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong commercial software engineering background
  • Excellent TDD and automated testing experience
  • JVM and/or TypeScript expertise
  • Strong CI/CD and DevOps knowledge
  • Docker + Kubernetes/OpenShift experience
  • Comfortable with Linux, Maven/Gradle/npm
  • Strong understanding of secure coding and production systems
  • Spring and/or Ansible experience is a bonus
