Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Software Engineer role based in Edinburgh, Scotland. The Software Engineer will design, build, and maintain backend services and automation-related software that integrate with the company’s Manufacturing Language Model and robotic systems.

- Writing clean, scalable code
- Implementing and testing APIs
- Optimizing performance
- Collaborating closely with product, robotics, and operations teams
- Troubleshooting production issues
- Participating in code reviews
- Contributing to architectural decisions that enhance reliability and security

Team members are expected to document their work clearly and support continuous improvement across the engineering organization.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles.
- Hands-on experience in Software Development and Programming, with proficiency in at least one modern language (e.g., Python, Java, C++, or Go).
- Knowledge of Back-End Web Development, including building and maintaining APIs, working with databases, and integrating services.
- Experience with Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and designing modular, maintainable systems.
- Familiarity with distributed systems, cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure), and CI/CD practices is beneficial.
- Ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams, communicate clearly, and solve complex technical problems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in robotics, manufacturing, or industrial automation is a plus but not required.
