About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join DWP’s digital team, contributing to the development and enhancement of critical public services. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, building, and maintaining scalable, secure, and resilient digital platforms that support millions of users nationwide. Working within multidisciplinary agile teams, you will collaborate closely with architects, product managers, designers, and testers to deliver innovative solutions aligned with organizational goals. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess proven experience in designing and delivering scalable, resilient, and secure technology solutions. You should demonstrate a strong understanding of cloud-native architectures, particularly AWS, and have hands-on experience with containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes. Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code frameworks like Terraform or CloudFormation is essential. Candidates should have a solid background in developing complex distributed systems, defining architectural patterns, and ensuring solutions are maintainable and interoperable. A deep understanding of modern software development lifecycles, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps practices, is required. Additionally, you should have experience embedding security, accessibility, and operational resilience into architectural designs, ensuring compliance with governance standards and user needs. A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred, along with relevant certifications in cloud technologies and agile methodologies.

Responsibilities
As a Senior Software Engineer at DWP, your responsibilities will include:
