Role Description
The Software Engineer will design, develop, and maintain backend and web-based systems that support Furmily’s community and lifestyle platform for pet owners. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

The role involves collaborating with product and design teams, writing clean and tested code, participating in code reviews, and contributing to technical decisions and architecture.
This is a contract position. It is a hybrid role based in London, with a mix of on-site collaboration and work-from-home flexibility.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Computer Science, including algorithms, data structures, and software engineering principles.
- Experience in Software Development and Programming, with proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript, C#, or similar).
- Hands-on experience in Back-End Web Development, including APIs, databases, and server-side frameworks.
- Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and ability to design modular, maintainable systems.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms or hosting environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is beneficial.
- Ability to analyze requirements, troubleshoot issues, and deliver solutions independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication skills and an interest in working within a pet-focused, community-driven product environment.
- Relevant degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
