Software Engineer (Python / Java) | Electronic Trading Technology
Join a high-performing Front Office Electronic Trading Technology team at a leading global investment bank, building the low-latency systems that underpin algorithmic trading, real-time risk management, market access and structured products trading.
This is a genuine front office engineering role, working directly with traders, quants and senior business stakeholders to design and build highly scalable, high-throughput platforms operating across global markets. You'll tackle complex distributed systems challenges where performance, reliability and real-time decision-making are critical.
What You'll Be Working On
- Building low-latency, high-performance trading and risk platforms.
- Designing systems that process and monitor real-time market and trading data.
- Developing pre-trade and intraday risk controls used across electronic trading businesses.
- Creating scalable services supporting algorithmic execution and market access.
- Optimising application performance, resiliency and throughput.
- Partnering directly with traders, quantitative developers and risk teams to deliver business-critical solutions.
- Driving engineering best practices, architecture decisions and technical innovation.

What We're Looking For
- Strong Python and/or Java development skills.
- Excellent Computer Science fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures and object-oriented design.
- Experience building scalable, high-performance distributed systems.
- Strong understanding of concurrency, performance optimisation and system design.
- Passion for solving complex technical problems in fast-paced environments.
Desirable
- Electronic Trading, Market Data, Risk or Pricing systems experience.
- Experience with low-latency or real-time platforms.
- Exposure to Capital Markets, Quantitative Finance or Financial Technology.
- Knowledge of messaging frameworks and event-driven architectures.
