An opportunity has arisen in our Industrial Metrology group for a Software Engineer. The successful applicant will join a team responsible for maintaining and extending existing flagship software being used by leading manufacturers around the world. It would suit a candidate who is looking to expand their knowledge of Software Engineering who also enjoys the challenge of working with physical engineering teams.
As part of this role, the applicant will have exposure to Renishaw’s advanced probing systems and have experience working on Metrology software.
About the Role
As a Software Engineer within the Industrial Metrology group, your responsibilities would include:
- Building Windows applications for use within the manufacturing industry
- Maintaining, upgrading, and extending existing production code
- Working within an agile team to breakdown stories into manageable tasks
- Writing tests to ensure products that are produced are of suitable quality
Key Requirements
Our ideal applicant would have a number of the following key skills and experience:
- Educated to at least degree level in a technical subject; OR the ability to demonstrate comparable applied knowledge and expertise to an equivalent level
- Knowledge and experience of:
- Legacy and modern C++
- Legacy UI frameworks
- SQL databases
- Computational geometry and 3D maths
- Using AI for safe and efficient code development
- Willing to work within a team to complete tasks
- Desire to continue to learn and improve through continuous improvement
- Willing to travel with a full and valid passport and driving licence
