Software Engineer – C/C++ | High Performance Computing
Southampton (Hybrid)
£50,000 + Bonus + Equity + Private Medical + Pension
Want to use your C++ skills to build software that could end up running in space?
Join a team developing high-performance software for next-generation 5G and satellite communications technology. Working at the intersection of high-performance computing, embedded systems, and digital signal processing, you'll help develop and optimise performance-critical software used to run complex 5G physical-layer algorithms on embedded platforms.

You'll learn from engineers working on technologies including 5G PHY, O-RAN, FPGA acceleration, and real-time embedded systems, while building software where performance, latency, and efficient use of compute resources genuinely matter.
Key Skills
- C or C++ software development
- Linux or embedded systems exposure
- Interest in performance-critical software
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics
We're not expecting you to be a 5G expert. You may be a recent graduate with a year or two of commercial experience, or someone who has developed relevant skills through an MSc, PhD, placement year, or personal projects.
